Farm Partners

Winter Sun Farms of Western North Carolina is made possible through partnerships with local farmers.

The farmers we partner with all follow sustainable agricultural practices – that is, they are certified organic or grow their foods naturally. By participating as a member of Winter Sun Farms, you are helping local farmers stay in business – in addition to enjoying healthy, local produce throughout the winter. Their products are also available fresh in the spring, summer and fall at tailgate markets across the region. Many of them also offer CSA's for the spring through fall. Check out their websites and sign up.

Together, we make it easy to enjoy a local bounty, all year 'round.

Funding Partners

Winter Sun Farms at Blue Ridge Food Ventures is also made possible by partnerships with funding agencies in North Carolina.

The NC Rural Center, through its Agricultural Advancement Consortium, gave a grant to Blue Ridge Food Ventures to study and adapt the model of Winter Sun Farms in the Hudson River area of New York state to western North Carolina.

The NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission is supporting the start up of this venture with a generous grant to set up the program and see it through its first two years.

We gratefully acknowledge these partners and their support of agricultural projects across North Carolina.
