Regional · Fair · Sustainable

Our goal is to support farmers and food entrepreneurs in Western North Carolina.

Winter Sun Farms is a program of Blue Ridge Food Ventures, a job creation initiative of AdvantageWest, the economic development commission for the 23 westernmost counties of North Carolina. Our shared-use, value-added food processing center in Asheville NC provides space and expertise to entrepreneurs who want to start or grow small businesses in the food industry.

We have businesses that make everything from apple butter to zouga nougat, raw organic chocolates to hot mustards, herbal teas and ginseng honey. Check out our products at the Food Products and Caterers section of www.blueridgefoodventures.org/

We also work with local farmers who wish to add value to their products through processing in an FDA-inspected kitchen. Our Farm Outreach Program team provides technical, operational and marketing support to farmers who wish to start branded, value-added ventures that will increase their farm profitability. Winter Sun Farms is one more way we are working to support the farm economy of Western North Carolina.

Let us help you make your food or farm business more successful!
